During a media showcase for the singer’s debut album “Sixteen” in Seoul on Wednesday, broadcasted via Naver V app, the young singer said having to sing with a broken voice due to his puberty was one of the hardest things when recording the album’s title track.

“When I was recording ‘Sixteen,’ I was actually quite worried about my voice breaking, as I was going through puberty,” the 15-year-old singer said.

“I thought I wouldn’t be able to pull off high notes. But one day I just gave it a try without thinking too much, and I could smoothly sing in high tone.”

Samuel also shared that it took him long time to come up with the choreography for “Sixteen,” as he wanted to visualize the number 16 through simple dance movements.

“In the end, I just decided to make a shape of the number 16 with my hands,” Samuel said.
