Korean-British singer Shannon said she was having sleepless nights in Seoul before the release of her mini album “Hello” on Friday.

“I feel nervous and excited about my new comeback after a long break. I couldn’t even sleep,” the 19-year-old said at a press conference in Seoul on Thursday. “I spent a lot of time practicing to show the best possible performance on stage.”

“Hello” is a dance song co-produced by popular songwriter and producer Ryan Jhun. It is based on the rhythm and blues and soul genres.

Shannon’s full name is Shannon Areum Williams Lees. She has a Welsh father and Korean mother, and spent 13 years in London. She debuted as a singer in Korea in December 2014 with the digital single “Daybreak Rain.”

Shannon performed in musicals in a British drama school and made appearances on Korean TV channel SBS in 2010, leading to her contract with MBK Entertainment in 2011.
