Korean singer and actress Goo Ha-ra once again showed how social media could be a double-edged sword for celebrities.

On early Wednesday morning, Goo took to Instagram to share a now-deleted photo of what appeared to be a hand-rolled cigarette. “This has a sour taste. It tastes good,” she wrote next to the photo.

Not long after Goo uploaded the post, netizens started to bombard her account with comments such as “Isn’t that a spliff?” and “I didn’t know she smoked.” Goo later deleted the post and replaced it with a photo of fruit, but it couldn’t stop the controversial post going viral on social media.

Goo took to Instagram again on Wednesday and wrote, “It was a hand-rolled cigarette. I just uploaded it because I thought it was interesting.”

Her agency KeyEast also stated that it has no comment on the ongoing matter as the photo was on her personal social media account.

Goo debuted in 2007 as a member of now-disbanded K-pop girl group Kara. Goo made her solo debut in July 2015 with debut EP “Alohara.”
