Yoona of Girls’ Generation and actor Hong Jong-hyun boasted of their close friendship with Im Si-wan in a live broadcast on Naver’s V app Monday.

Yoona, Hong and Im starred together on the MBC drama “The King in Love,” which started airing on July 17.

Im began his mandatory military service on July 11.

Throughout the broadcast, Yoona and Hong expressed their regret that Im could not join the show.

Hong said, “It is the first (drama) promotion activity we are having without Im. I feel emptiness from his absence. It may seem we are very excited, but actually we may be overreacting because we feel sad about his absence.”

He also pledged to hold a live broadcast with Im if the drama records a viewership rating of over 15 percent.

“I know you must be busy but please watch our drama live. The viewership rating doesn’t matter so much, but I wish we could draw 15 percent in viewership so that we can be back with Si-wan,” Hong said closing the broadcast.
