Soon-to-debut boy band The Boyz will launch a variety show next month in which the members run a snack bar.

The group’s agency Cre.ker Entertainment said Monday, “The Boyz will launch a variety show ‘Flower Boy Snack Bar’ (literal translation) which will show the group’s pre-debut period.”

In the show, the members of the boy band will learn cooking from tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cake) masters and professional chefs and develop their own recipes to run a pop-up snack bar where they will cook and serve the dishes by themselves.

Ahead of the show’s launch, the group held a promotional event Saturday in Hannam-dong and Sinchon, Seoul where it gave out tteokbokki and roses to the fans. The event attracted more than 1,000 fans at each venue despite the hot weather, which reached over 36 degrees Celsius.

The Boyz -- consisting of Juhaknyeon, Hyunjae, Sunwoo, Younghoon, Hwall, Kevin, Sangyeon, Juyeon, New, Q, Jacob and Eric -- is set to debut later this year. As most of its members have previously appeared in media, the group is already enjoying high popularity even before its debut.

The first episode of the new variety show will air on MBC Music at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 and on MBC Everyone at 11 p.m.
