The group was a guest on a variety program there called “Turma Do Vovo Raul” on July 15, before it officially debuted in Korea on Wednesday,

During the show, the program’s host Raul asked members if any of them were dating their band mates. As K.A.R.D answered there was no such thing, Raul went on to ask if any of them were dating.

The members once again said none of them were in a dating relationship. After hearing the crowds cheer, Raul asked the audience, “Will you marry K.A.R.D then?”

He then added that if they date K.A.R.D members, they will also have slit eyes, while making a slit-eye gesture, a form of racial discrimination against Asians. Raul was also spotted telling one of Japanese children, who performed with K.A.R.D in the program, that the kid should open his eyes wide.

Following his racist remarks on the program, netizens at home and abroad have been criticizing the Brazilian host, claiming that he should apologize to K.A.R.D.

K.A.R.D, a rookie group that already has dropped three pre-debut singles, released its official debut EP “Hola Hola” on Wednesady.
