Donghae, a member of K-pop boy band Super Junior, finished his mandatory military duty and was discharged Friday.

He had served in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency since October 2015 as a conscripted policeman.

Wearing the police uniform, he told a cheering crowd, "I didn't sleep well and was so nervous. ... I didn't expect this many people to come wait for me. Thank you for waiting."

Eunhyuk, another member who was discharged two days ago, was among the crowd who cheered when Donghae came out.

The group's leader Leeteuk wrote on his Instagram, "Congratulations Donghae for your discharge, and I am sorry for not being able to come."

For his first official event, Donghae will attend a fan meeting with Eunhyuk on July 23, titled "Hello Again," at Sejong University in Seoul as D&E. The sub-unit of Super Junior stands for Donghae and Eunkyuk.

When Siwon is discharged from the military on Aug. 18, Super Junior is scheduled to begin temporarily working as a seven-member group with the release of a new album in October. (Yonhap)
