Rapper Zico, the front man of K-pop boy band Block B, is under fire for his lack of communication during a press conference in Seoul for his second EP “Television,” which released Tuesday evening.

The Tuesday press event troubled reporters from the beginning, as they were informed the event would be delayed half an hour by the artist’s agency the day before.

The bigger problem came as Zico, who was expected to talk with reporters about his new album at the event, left the venue shortly after introducing the six tracks and posing for press photos. A question-and-answer session, which would be the greatest point of having a press conference, would have normally followed, but instead a screened documentary about Zico was screened.

It has been reported the artist himself also seemed unaware of how to handle the event, as he kept asking staff about the event’s organization.

Following controversies that sparked over how the event lacked communication between the artist and reporters, Zico took to Naver’s V app Tuesday evening, a few hours after the event, to elaborate on his EP “Television.” There he thanked artists such as G. Soul for having featured on his album, but still couldn‘t avoid media criticism for ignoring ongoing controversies and merely parroting what he had said earlier at the press event.

Zico’s six-track EP “Television” features “Anti” and “Artist” as its double lead tracks, as well as “Behind the Scene,” “Fanxy Child,” and pre-released singles “She’s a Baby” and “Bermuda Triangle.”

Zico debuted as the leader of Block B on April 15, 2011.

Zico has also been well received for his crossover skills in the Korean hip-hop scene, as he appeared as a producer on the fourth season of rap competition program “Show Me the Money” in 2015.
