Lee Eui-woong, a trainee from Yuehua Entertainment, said he “has undergone exhilarating competition since middle school.” He called it a chain of survival during an interview with a local fashion magazine, a V app video showed Sunday.

Lee gained popularity by starring on Mnet’s survival audition show “Produce 101 Season 2.” He finished the show with the 23rd spot, failing to secure a spot in the final 11-member group.

During the interview he was asked what his election pledges were when he ran for the student president election in middle school. He was a student representative in middle school and promoted such experience in the Mnet’s competition show.

“(My pledges) were offering umbrella rental service, setting up a mirror in every classroom and adding a field trip to the academic calendar -- which I failed to fulfill though I tried hard,” he said.

He said that was when his life became a survival. “I prepared for the election really hard,” he said.

He said since he loved going to school, he ran for the school elections every time.

“I am attending Hanlim Multi Art School now and it is my small wish to become the president of Hanlim Multi Art School,” he said.
