Yoona says she will visit Im Si-wan in military

Girls’ Generation’s Yoona described her co-star Im Si-wan as “more charismatic” than she had expected at a press conference Monday for the upcoming period drama “The King Loves.”

“You would think (Im) is softer from his appearance but a part of his personality was really charismatic and had a masculine charm,” she said about Im at the MBC headquarters in Seoul.

In the upcoming show, Yoona plays Eun San, the daughter of a nobleman who hides her identity to survive. Im plays Wang Won, the crown prince of Goryeo who falls in love with her.

Model-turned-actor Hong Jong-hyun plays Wang Lin, the best friend and guard of Wang Won.

“(Hong) has a stronger image when you look at his physical appearance but he was gentler and more playful,” she said.

Yoona added that she and the cast of “The King Loves” will visit Im, who is set to begin his military service on July 11, at his post.

The new drama begins on July 17 on MBC and will air every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m.
