Asked how the members have dealt with the incident, band leader Chorong said, “We would like to extend our apologies to our fans for having worried them even before our return.”

“We were shocked at first, but we could weather through it thanks to your support and help.”

Chorong also expressed gratitude to staff and fans who protected members against such a blow.

A few hours before Monday‘s showcase, Apink was threatened by an unidentified man who claimed to have set up explosives at the event venue. After a sweeping search at the venue, police said that no evidence or trace of explosives were found. The group’s label Plan A decided to go ahead with the event, after confirming the safety of the venue.

The man, whose identity remains unknown, is believed to be the same person who made a phone call to police on June 14, threatening to kill Apink members. Following the threat, the label had vowed legal action against threats and malicious comments against Apink members.

Apink’s 6th EP “Pink Up” released on Monday at 6 p.m. includes cheerful summer synth lead track “Five Up,” piano-based balled “Eyes” and “Always,” a pre-released special fan song.
