Music audition programs continue to fill up airtime in Korea, encouraging one of the largest K-pop agencies here to up the ante.

YG Entertainment said Tuesday that it plans to launch a survival program featuring local idols. Newly debuted idol groups will join the show, while YG artists will take up roles in the jury.

“We plan to make a program that will be popular globally,” YG said.

Producer Han Dong-cheol, who created popular audition programs “Produce 101” and “Show Me the Money,” will contribute to the production.

YG said it would launch a trainee-centered survival program, as well. “Thirty male trainees from YG Entertainment will star in the show,” it said.

The agency is also set to produce reality programs featuring its artists such as “Black Pink TV,” “Winner TV” and “iKON TV.”
