Joo Won of ongoing period drama “My Sassy Girl” shared a video letter exclusively via the V app Tuesday.

The letter was shot in September 2016, when pre-recording for the show was ongoing.

“Hello, this is Joo Won,” the actor said, addressing the camera in period costume for the show.

He spoke in a hushed tone as shooting was still going on just next to him. “This is my first period work,” he said “(Upon beginning) I was worried, nervous and excited at the same time.”

Joo Won, however, apparently carried off the task wonderfully, according to the video letter‘s producers. Joo Won was seen in the video to have completely absorbed the role and comedic parts of the acting, much to the delight of the staff.

“When I’m done with the show I‘ll come say hello to you all again. I’ll do my best. Stay well, everyone. I look forward to speaking to you again soon,” Joo Won said in wrapping up the letter.

“My Sassy Girl” is based on the landmark 2001 Korean movie of the same title starring Jun Ji-hyun and Cha Tae-hyun.

The new show kicked off in May and airs Mondays and Tuesdays on SBS at 10 p.m.
