The report said the couple had filed a divorce under mutual agreement in March, ending the couple’s 10-year marriage. In response to speculations the separation was due to Jung’s failure in his own business, Harisu took to Instagram to address the rumors.

She wrote, “Please don’t make completely groundless rumors that I divorced Jung because of that (his failed business). We loved each other very much, and we still support each other.”

“We are still each other’s followers on social media. Our love wasn’t based on materialistic values such as money from the beginning, so please stop making malicious comments on us,” she said.

Harisu and Jung tied the knot in May 2007 after meeting online in 2005. Born as a male, Harisu, whose real name is Lee Kyung-yeop, underwent sex reassignment surgery in the 1990s. Harisu made her acting debut in 1991 when she was still living as a male, and became well-known after she appeared in a TV commercial for DoDo cosmetics in early 2001 as Korea’s first transgender celebrity.

Harisu worked as a model, actress and singer, releasing several albums, including “Temptation” in 2001 and “Foxy Lady” in 2004.
