K-pop group GOT7 on Thursday hosted “meokbang” (eating show) at a Korean-style sauna jjimjilbang via Naver V app, eating ramen, seaweed soup and kimchi stew.

The members played a game eating a lot of food in one spoon. Jackson was unable to participate due to personal circumstances.

After Youngjae succeeded in swallowing a mouthful of rice with kimchi, the next runner BamBam put a bunch of rice on his spoon, saying he wants to eat half a bowl of it.

“BamBam’s lips are very big, but his mouth is small,“ said Jinyoung. “But I think inside of his mouth is really big.”

GOT7 also shared their tips to go on a diet to the fans.

“You should eat when you want to eat. It’s bad for your health if you suffer,” said BamBam.

Yugyeom said he did not eat after 6 p.m. when he was on a diet, but not now. Youngjae added that brushing teeth makes his appetite to diminish.

Up10tion

Wei of boy band Up10tion celebrated his 22nd birthday through Naver’s live broadcast Thursday.

Wei gave a special mission to his fellow members to “bring a gift to a set place by 7:55 p.m. or penalties will be given” through their group messenger.

The first member to arrive was Bitto. He brought a shoe and handed Wei a shoe insert, saying it would help him to look four centimeters taller.

Gyujin, who arrived in second place, said that he himself is Wei’s birthday present.

The members brought extraordinary gifts to Wei such as cosmetics, exercise equipment and other member‘s umbrella, which made them roar with laughter.

The team’s leader Jinhoo impressed Wei by preparing sincere gifts unlike other members -- chocolate pies and a Lego-block-shaped model cake.

“Thank you Honey10 (referring to Up10tion’s fan club) for all your wishes. I received the letters from you and will write you back online in an hour,” said Wei.

Dreamcatcher

Girl group Dreamcatcher took to Naver V app Thursday to share stories of what they are going to do during their upcoming vacation.

“We are soon going on a vacation,” said Jiu. “I thought we would never get a chance to rest this summer, but thankfully our boss gave us holidays.”

Gahyun said she would hang out with her friends and family, adding she would like to have more time for self-improvement.

“I’m going down to my hometown -- guess where? ‘Daefrica!’” Siyeon said. “I will stay at home with my family since it’s hot outside.”

“Daefrica,” which is a combination of Daegu and Africa, is a nickname given to southeastern provincial city in South Korea for its sizzling weather almost equivalent to Africa.

“What are you going to do this vacation? I think students will be soon on vacation.” Gahyun asked the fans. “I used to spend so much time hanging out when I was a student.”

The members were amazed when one fan comment that he “will write a fan novel on vacation and draw fan art.”
