Jang Kiha and The Faces

Jang Kiha and The Faces, a six-member indie-rock band known for its unique rhythmic tunes, aired a V show from New York City on Monday.

The group is visiting fourteen North American cities in a monthlong tour.

“(Everyday) we open our eyes, get on a plane and perform in the night -- and repeat,” said Jang, the vocalist.

“Many people think we’re performing for the Koreans living in the US, but the majority of our audience is foreigners who don’t even know us,” said drummer Jeon Il-jun, “And they love us. We totally owned New York City tonight.”

“Tomorrow we’re heading over to Chicago, the land of music,” the group said, “Toronto is our final stop, then we’re done and back to Korea.”

The reason they turned on the V app after the twelfth performance was to endorse fellow agency band, Hyukoh.

“Four hours later at 6 p.m., Monday, our very close ‘family member’ band Hyukoh’s album will be released,” said Jang Kiha.

His endorsement of Hyukoh drew attention from fans, who bombarded Jang with questions on V live chat if he had listened to his former girlfriend IU’s collaborative song with Oh Hyuk, the lead vocalist of Hyukoh.

IU and Oh are close friends.

Before launching his latest album titled “23,” Oh collaborated with IU on her post-breakup songs.

Jang did not comment on the questions related to IU.

Following Jang Kiha and The Faces’ broadcast, the four-member group Hyukoh came up on the same agency V channel DRDRamc to promote their imminent album showcase.

GFriend
GFriend belatedly released a video recording of its Bangkok concert which had taken place on April 8.

In the 5-minute short video released on Monday, GFriend showed some behind-the-scenes footage of the group preparing for the Thailand fan event.

Umji, Yerin and Shinbi played a game while waiting in the green room for the concert time.

Eunha touched up her bangs and goofed around, changing her facial expressions from happy to chic to sexy and naive, according to the calls of Yerin.

When the time came for them to go up on the stage, GFriend greeted the fans in Thai, and the Thai fans sang along to GFriend’s songs in Korean.

“Thank you for receiving us so warmly, Thailand. We’ll be back soon,” the six GFriend members collectively spoke for the camera as they finished the recording.
