Siyeon of Pristin has embarked on a new step in her career by becoming a host of MBC’s music program “Show! Music Core.”

Saturday’s episode of the weekly show featured the singer hosting the program for the first time with the current host Cha Eun-woo of Astro.

She also performed “Girl Friend,” a hit song by Canadian rock star Avril Lavigne, with the group. The performance was organized by Pristin’s members to celebrate the new step in her career.

Siyeon was recently selected as the new host to replace Kim Sae-ron and Lee Soo-min, who left the show after last week’s episode.

“It is an honor to host the program, which has always been my dream,” said Siyeon after the show. “I feel like I should have done better on my first day, but I will try my best to improve.”

The singer also said she hopes her role in the program will help promote Pristin.

The 10-member group debuted on March 21 with its first mini album “Hi! Pristin,” which has six songs, including the lead track “Wee Woo.” Seven members of the group had appeared on Mnet’s competition show “Produce 101” in 2016.
