Kim Joo-hyuk has decided to star in a movie “Heungbu,” according to a movie distributor Lotte Entertainment.

“Heungbu” is a historical period drama which depicts people’s lives in the Joseon period. Kim will play the role of Cho Hyuk, a wise nobleman who helps the main character Yeon Heungbu to find his lost brother. Jung Woo has been cast for the role Heungbu.

Kim, 45, has broadened his acting spectrum by taking roles for movies in various genres, as well as showing off his funny side in a variety show “2 Days & 1 Night.”

The movie is set to be released in 2018.
