CJ E&M said Friday that Baek will release a new song titled “Very Old Memory” (unofficial translation) for tvN’s ongoing drama “Chicago Typewriter.”

It is the first time the singer worked on the soundtrack for a drama since she started her music career in 2012 in the duo 15& and debuted solo in 2015 with the album “FRANK.”

“Her unique and emotional tone will go well with the drama’s sophisticated love story,” said CJ E&M.

The melodrama starring Yoo Ah-in and Lim Soo-jung centers on a mysterious antique typewriter which transports the characters 70 years back in time to the 1930s. The series that premiered on April 7 has a viewership rate of below 3 percent, lower than expected from the show with a stellar casting.

Baek recently contributed to Dean’s newly released song “Come Over.” She was also rumored to be dating Cloud, a singer and producer who worked with Baek on her previous albums. Baek’s agency JYP Entertainment, however, denied the rumor.

The new drama soundtrack will be released at noon on Saturday.
