Kim Hyung-joon of K-pop boy band SS301 joined the military Thursday.

“I enlist at the age of 31. I think I must do well no matter what,” Kim said.

He will go through the basic military training for four weeks before starting assigned duty at the promotions unit of Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency. It is where Junsu of JYJ is serving his duty since his enlistment in February.

On Thursday, Kim released the repackaged mini album “AM to PM 7-5-11-3,” which consists of three songs from his March release “AM to PM 5-11-3” and a new track “7 O’Clock.”

The artist made his debut as the youngest member of SS501 in 2005 and enjoyed high popularity at home and overseas, especially in Japan. He later formed SS301 with his bandmates Heo Young-saeng and Kim Kyu-jong in 2008 and produced many hit songs such as “U R Man” and “Because I‘m Stupid.”

He started his solo career with his first solo album “My Girl” in 2011.
