Shinhwa's Kim Dong-wan on Sunday aired a live V broadcast of the fireworks circling the newly erected Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Seoul.

Sparks erupted in succession, spiraling up and down the tower and giving it the appearance of a giant tree in flames.

Organizers estimated approximately 100,000 people gathered to watch the event.

The sound of the cheering crowd was clearly audible in Kim’s video, albeit he recorded the clip from afar.

“It takes so much time between each firework. My hands are freezing,” Kim‘s voice could be heard in the clip.

“The tower looks like a pencil on fire (from here),” Kim said.

Kim watched three series of fireworks before he stopped the broadcast.

According to Lotte Group, at least 4 tons of gunpowder was used during the 11-minute event, at a cost of up to 4 billion won ($3.5 million).
