Kim Chung-ha of the now disbanded I.O.I is preparing for her solo debut, her agency M&H Entertainment said Wednesday.

“Kim is currently working on her album aiming for a late-April release,” the agency said.

The agency has yet to decide on the lead track. “There is high possibility of a dance song for the lead track, which will feature Kim’s outstanding performances,” M&H said.

Kim will be the first to debut as a solo artist among the 11 former members of I.O.I. Four of her former bandmates earlier made their debuts in girl groups.

Kim appeared on Mnet’s competition program “Produce 101” in 2016 and gained public attention for her dance skills. She finished the show in the fourth spot and formed a project girl group for one year with 10 other finalists. The group disbanded in January.
