Kim Jae-joong

Kim Jae-joong is continuing his food V broadcast.

Kim on Wednesday aired the sequel of “House Cook Master Kim” from Japan, where his mission this time was to try out instant lunch boxes from Japanese convenience stores.

“Japanese lunch boxes, the bentos, are amazing,” Kim said sitting in front of a table piled with plastic-wrapped food.

He first went for the box with grilled chicken and rice.

“Do you see the crispy-grilled crust here? This chicken was glazed with sweet sauce and made roasted. It‘s really good,” said Kim.

Being a Korean, Kim wanted to have kimchi with the Japanese bento.

Next he tried a triangular rice ball seemingly burnt on the outside.

“It tastes like the crust of overcooked rice mixed with mayonnaise inside.”

Kim couldn’t bypass the umeboshi rice, a rice ball with sour Chinese plum in the core.

“It‘s one of my favorite foods. Japanese people were the first to realize that sour plums go well with rice.”

But his most favorite item was undoubtedly mentaiko mayonnaise.

“This is salted pollock roe mixed with mayonnaise and sealed in the core of a rice ball, it’s so, so good,” Kim said.

Gugudan

Gugudan's Mimi aired a V live Thursday, saying she is scouting a sous-chef for her makeshift restaurant.

“I’m at ‘Show! Champion,’” said Mimi, “The reason I‘m airing this surprise V is because of Mimi’s snack house.”

Mimi took recommendations on who should be her supporting chef, to which majority of fans suggested Mina.

Mina jumped in to the frame and volunteered to be an employee to the shop owner Mimi.

“I‘m good at making gang doenjang, the soybeean paste that goes with lettuce and rice,” Mina said.

Fans of Gugudan let out an endless list of things they want to see the two stars cook.

“Steamed chicken, pig’s feet, chicken feet, braised ribs, marinated crab...” Mimi read the list.

“Mimi‘s snack house has made only ddeokbokki, twice so far...shall we try a more difficult dish this time?” suggested Mimi.

“For now, it’s a secret what dish we will cook.”

Some fans joked that whatever the K-pop stars cooked would end up as food from hell.

“With Mina, we have this under control,” Mimi confidently said.

“Look forward to Mi-sisters’ chemistry,” said Mina.

Han Joo-hye

Professional emcee Han Joo-hye aired a live V show, Wednesday, where she parodied BTS’ “Spring Day” music video.

“I became each member of BTS for this parodied music video,” Han said.

Han was an obvious fan of BTS‘ Jimin, as she said her oversized white shirts and black choker necklace was an imitation of Jimin.

However, the well-meaning music video backfired as many fans expressed disappointment for not seeing BTS on the show.

“What is this? I thought BTS would be here,” said one international fan, citing the misleading V show title written in Korean but has the bands name.

“She (Han) is just trying to increase her views by using BTS’ name,” said another.

“I hoped she wouldn‘t parody BTS’ original work...” said a Korean BTS fan club member.

Some supportive fans responded positively, “I can tell you put in a lot of effort,” “Good parody.”

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
