MBC’s hit variety show “Infinite Challenge” will resume airing Saturday, following its seven-week break.

“Let’s make a new legend from this moment on,” the host of the show Yoo Jae-suk said.

The new episode, titled “Match! Hanamana,” will feature the cast members competing in games and challenges suggested by the members themselves.

“Infinite Challenge,” which started airing in 2006, quickly grew to become one of the most popular variety shows in the country, frequently topping viewership ratings.

In January, the show announced the first-ever break -- excluding the period when MBC’s labor union was on strike in 2012 -- in its 12 year run, as part of efforts to “normalize” the program.

Its production team used the time off to catch a breather from their hectic schedule and held meetings with cast members to draw up a blueprint for the program for the year.

As one of the cast members, Kwanghee, enlisted for military service Monday, the production team is also discussing how to fill the vacancy.
