Lee Dong-wook, the grim reaper from the hit TV show “Guardian,” held a fan event in Seoul on Sunday.

Forty minutes before the event’s kickoff, Lee’s manager secretly shared a V live broadcast to show viewers a candid side of Lee.

Not knowing he was being recorded, Lee talked to his staff, asking for hand cream and to have his hair fixed.

“I don’t usually get nervous but this time, I’m really nervous,” he was heard saying.

Following the secret preview, Lee was properly interviewed by the V app’s staff.

“I haven’t had a fan event in six years,” Lee said to the camera crew, laughing, “I think it’s because I was shocked the first time I held such an event -- I had to light the candles on a cake, blow it out, and ask the fans to clap, too.”

Lee prepared gifts such as cosmetics for fans who had come to attend the fan meeting this time.

“I think I cried the most in ‘Guardian,’ among all the works I appeared in,” Lee said, answering a question from interviewers.

“How do I express different types of tears -- that was the most difficult thing I had to put in the most effort into.”

Lee said it was especially hard to get the right emotions when he was crying while staring at a portrait of Sunhee.
