‘Strong Woman Do Bong-soon’ makes powerful debut

The first two episodes of JTBC’s new drama series “Strong Woman Do Bong-soon” aired on Friday and Saturday, setting some unprecedented records for the broadcasting station.

The first episode kicked off with a 3.8 percent viewership share while ratings for the second episode rose to 5.8 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.

It is the highest viewership rating ever for the broadcasting station’s Friday-Saturday dramas, which surpassed the record of the last episode of “Secret Love Affair” in 2014, which marked a 5.4 percent viewership share.

The episodes center on the female lead, Do Bong-soon, played by Park Bo-young, who was born with super-strength, a spoiled game company CEO Ahn Min-hyuk, played by Park Hyung-sik, and a young policeman In Gook-doo, played by Ji Soo.

The three become entangled in a serial murder case and end up reluctantly living together for security purposes.

The 16-episode series airs Fridays and Saturdays on JTBC.
