Actor Ryu Jun-yeol revealed stories behind the scenes of his movie “The King” via Naver’s V app live Wednesday.

Along with actors Zo In-sung and Jung Woo-sung, Ryu starred in the movie as Zo’s long-time friend, Choi Doo-il.

As a nonsmoker, he said he had to smoke a pack of cigarettes to play his part.

“Before, I coughed when I was exposed to the smoke and the smell (of cigarettes), but I could do it (smoke) with the camera in front of me,” Ryu said shyly.

He also had tattoos drawn on his arms every day for the role.

“Someone asked if it was some kind of arm warmers with tattoo shapes drawn on it. It wasn’t. I would like to thank the tattooists for drawing them every day,” Ryu said.

Ryu is now shooting in a new movie titled “Little Forest,” starring stars Kim Tae-ri, who gained attention for her last film “The Handmaiden,” directed by Park Chan-wook. “Little Forest” is expected in theaters in 2018.

“I came up from the countryside to Seoul to greet you guys on today’s broadcast,” Ryu said.

A Korean political-crime thriller, “The King” was released on Jan. 18 and has so far attracted more than 5.3 million cinemagoers.

Min-ah

Min-ah of K-pop girl group Girl’s Day popped up on a V app live broadcast Wednesday to share her daily life stories with the fans.

“Hello guys. I’m a little tired today. I just turned on V app right after my Pilates class,” Min-ah said, greeting fans in her room.

She then introduced her dog, Gongdol, pointing out to viewers how adorable it is. She showed great affection for the dog, holding it tight and giving it numerous pecks on the cheek.

“He is learning to understand our language. I say ‘hand’ and he gives me his paw,” she said cheerfully.

She said she was working hard, preparing for the next album. Due to a tight rehearsal schedule she said she was not feeling well.

“I think my immune system is slowing down. I worked on recording the song for two days in a row. But I am OK,” she said.

The agency of the girl group said Girl’s Day aims to return to meet fans with a new album in late March or early April.

Evan

Singer Evan celebrated the release of his new album on a V app live broadcast Wednesday. There he shared his music and stories with the viewers.

“It is my second broadcast on V app. Usually, I would be practicing my songs or be drinking. It is a new experience for me to spend time with you guys,” the 33-year-old explained to fans.

Evan then explained his new song “Desert Fish (Day Dream)” and its genre.

“The new song has a tint of British sentiment in it, which differentiates it from my other songs.”

He said the song’s title reflects what he felt after a busy day passes every day. As fish cannot live in deserts, the two words contrast when put together, he said.

It is similar to how he usually feels when he comes back to the quiet of home after a loud busy day during daylight hours.

At midnight, the artist and fans also listened to his new songs together.

“(For the lyrics) I wrote exactly what I felt before I go to bed. You think a lot before you sleep,” Evan said.

There is no music video for the song at this time, as he intended for listeners to solely feel the music itself.

Evan made his debut in 2007 with the EP “Hard to Breath.”
