Mamamoo producer tops royalty income in 2016

Korean songwriter Kim Do-hoon, a producer for Mamamoo, collected the most in copyright fees in 2016, among K-pop composers.

Kim was awarded the grand prize for getting the most royalty fees for last year at an award ceremony held Tuesday by the Korea Music Copyright Association.

His works in 2016 include “MoMoMo” for WJSN, “You’re the Best” and “I Miss You” for Mamamoo and “Blood, Sweat & Tears” for BTS.





It is the second time for the composer to capture the win at the award ceremony. He also won the prize in 2015.

Kang Eun-kyung, who wrote the lyrics of “I will Show You” for Ailee, won the grand prize for two consecutive years as a lyricist. Teddy Park, a producer of YG Entertainment, was awarded the same prize as an arranger.
