The song “Rain” by K-pop group Sistar’s Soyou and boy band EXO’s Baekhyun has topped eight music charts since its release Monday at midnight.

Fans have heaped praise on the song online, saying, “The lyrics are so melancholic,” “It is an invincible collaboration” and “I love both artists.”

The pair had noted upon completing the recording of “Rain” that the collaboration would produce a synergy of vocals. Soyou previously released popular songs “Officially Missing You,” “Some,” “Stupid in Love” and “Lean on Me.”

This long-awaited song was produced by singer-songwriting team Phat Music, and in partnership with groups such as GFRIEND.

The song talks about one’s nostalgia about a bygone love, while gazing at the rain falling. The track combines Soyou’s husky voice and Baekhyun’s melodic vocal.
