Choi Yoo-jung and Kim Do-yeon of disbanded girl group I.O.I will go to the US to prepare for their official debut under the label Fantagio.

Choi and Kim will receive lessons on singing and dancing alongside US trainees. It will also serve as an opportunity for the budding Korean starlets to learn to speak English and widen their global insights.

Local media Friday quoted an unidentified Fantagio staff member saying the agency had prepared for Choi and Kim’s US excursion since as early as July 2016, while the two were still in project group I.O.I.

Choi and Kim will carry out their scheduled activities in Korea in between those in the US.

Details of their training program are still under review.

Choi and Kim are anticipated to take leadership roles in the new K-pop girl group Fantagio is planning.
