I.O.I pledged to reunite in five years, wrapping up their high-profile activities that had generated them a sizable following in Korea.

The project girl group finished up by filming a school uniform commercial together before disbanding.

“Just like Sechs Kies, we wish to get back together,” Kim Se-jung said on MBC’s “Section TV” on Sunday. “I know it’s hard, but I hope there will be some people still looking for us even after five years.”

I.O.I released the final single “Downpour” on Jan. 18.

The 11-piece group held its last concert in tears as the final farewell on Jan. 22.

I.O.I was assembled through Mnet’s competition program “Produce 101” in 2016. The 11 finalists formed a girl group for one year.
