K-pop band DAY6 created and sang a series of impromptu songs with fans on Naver’s V app Friday, inviting them to join the group’s creative process.

“Today, we’re going to go beyond music written by us to create music together with our fans,” said the group's leader Sungjin. “We will come up with the tunes and you guys can write the lyrics,” he said.

“This is something we do only at concerts, but now we’re doing this via the V app for the first time,” said Wonpil. “Please send us lots of suggestions.”

The first theme selected by DAY6 was “New Year” and what fans hope to achieve in 2017.

The five-member boy band went on to quickly whip up a song based on “diet” or “dieting in the new year,” as suggested by a fan, accompanied by Jae’s guitar chords.

“Dieting is my goal of the year. Because I have a lot of fat. I haven’t dated anyone and it’s been sad. It’s been a lonely Christmas,” Sungjin sang.

“Six-pack” was another keyword recommended by a fan.

“I remember the days when I said I would get a six-pack. But I really love eating, so I could never go on a diet. Every day, I’m watching my diet and exercising with a physical trainer. But that six pack just won’t appear,” Young K said.

“To love yourself” was picked by Jae, who soulfully sang a high-toned ballad on the topic, followed by Wonpil who went on to sing about “to escape being single.”

“I want to fall in love too, but it’s hard. I want to date too, but it’s so hard. Everyone else seems to be dating. I don’t know why I can’t date.” Wonpil sang.

“I want to date, but I don’t know why there are so many people around me that I don’t like. I want to escape being single. Will someone notice my heart and come to me?” he continued.

DAY6 members also shared their New Year’s resolutions and what they are thankful for, including focusing on creating good music, improving on an individual level and as a group and staying healthy.

Kisum

South Korean singer Kisum thanked fans for their birthday well-wishes via the V app Friday.

During the broadcast, she was in a car heading to Gwangju to prepare for her concert.

“I’m really sleepy but I can’t sleep. Do you know why?” Kisum said. “It’s because I’m afraid that my birthday might just be over while I’m sleeping in the car.”

“I’m on my way to Gwangju right now (to give a concert there). I think my birthday will be over while I’m in the car,” she added.

Kisum thanked all fans who had congratulated her on her birthday and sent her gifts and messages.

“Thank you so much. A lot of people congratulated me on my birthday and I can’t thank you enough for all the love I’ve received.”

The singer also addressed questions from fans, revealing plans to release a song sometime this year and urging fans to watch her daily online broadcast “Kisum’s Someday.”

2NE1

K-pop girl group 2NE1 released the music video for “Goodbye,” the last song the group is releasing together as a unit, via the V app Friday night.

Surprising fans and the public, 2NE1 announced last November that it would be disbanding, with each member pursuing individual careers.

The black-and-white music video showed each of the 2NE1 members looking solemn and singing soulfully about their time together as a group.

“Until the day we meet again, goodbye, goodbye. Does anyone know how it makes me feel? Until the day we meet again, goodbye, goodbye,” CL sang.

Minzy, who left 2NE1's agency YG Entertainment in May last year, did not sing in the video. Minzy, however, does appear in the MV as the scenes for the video were filmed back in March.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
