Kai of EXO will star in a new KBS teenage drama, tentatively titled “Killing School,” KBS said Thursday.

Kai will appear as 18-year-old Si-kyeong, a city boy forced to move to a school in the countryside.

The TV drama will depict Si-kyeong’s haphazard life as he tries to adapt to his new surroundings and his realization of the value of life through volunteering at a hospice, at the behest of his new school’s policy.

“The casting of Kai will trigger an explosion of interest from teenagers who are the main target audience,” production company Ubiculture said.

The new show’s screenwriters are Park Sun-ja and Kwon Ki-kyeong, whose previous works include “Sharp,” where Go Ara and Yoo Ah-in made their first dramatic appearances. While the TV drama was popular in itself, Go was also launched to stardom with its quickly growing popularity.
