Singer I met K-pop fans for the first time via the Naver V app Wednesday.

She introduced herself and talked about how much she likes her stage name, “I.”

“‘I’ has its literal meaning of ‘I’. It also sounds like the word ‘love’ in Chinese,” she said. Her real name is Cha Yoon-ji.

The artist recalled her six-year training period during which she had to tackle challenges.

“I was able to become the person I am right now after the training,” she said. “I tried to keep positive when I had a hard time practicing.”

She released her debut album on music sites after the live broadcast. She is set to make a formal debut on M.net’s “M Countdown” on Thursday.

She is the first female soloist from her agency WM Entertainment. Her brother, Baro of B1A4, also belongs to the agency.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
