The recent cold weather in Korea has heated up the popularity of what is being called “celebrity bench down jackets.”

The jackets have generally been worn by stars over their thin outfits to keep them warm during outdoor shoots with their long length. The jackets are designed to be simple, so they can be worn over any kind of outfit.

Due to their convenience in styling and warmth, the jackets are gaining in popularity in Korea -- despite their high price.

One exceptionally popular model comes from Nike, though it is not for sale yet. It was distributed to celebrities and some show staff for brand promotion. They rarely come up on secondhand markets and will typically sell for any price asked.

Going along with the trend, fashion brands are releasing long down jackets in their newest winter collections.

OCD released its Celebrity Duck Down Long Padded Jacket, while 8seconds released the Heavy Long Padded Jacket in collaboration with fashionista GD of Big Bang.

As “boyfriend fit” and “oversized looks” are all the vogue, the long bench down jackets are likely to maintain their popularity for the time being.
