K-pop girl group Twice appeared on Naver V app before their performance for “MBC Gayo Daejejeon” on Saturday.

Twice opened the show telling viewers that Dahyun will officially be an adult as she will turn 20 at midnight. In Korea, people become a year older when the year turns.

Sana and Jeongyeon teased Dahyun for taking lots of selfies “to celebrate the last of (her) teenage.”

“Then when she turns 20, she is going to take another pile of selfies saying ‘I am going to take photos since I am 20 now,’” Sana said.

As a multinational group, members of Twice shared different cultural traditions on New Year.

Sana and Tzuyu said “Happy New Year” in Japanese and Chinese.

Sana also introduced “osechi,” the traditional Japanese New Year foods, while Tzuyu could not think of any special Chinese New Year dish.

When asked about their party plan for New Year’s Eve, the members said they had a big party last year with a mirror ball and light bulbs on. They said they gathered to watch “Gayo Daejejeon” together since they only performed for “Gayo Daejeon” among the other year-end music programs on major TV networks.

This year, instead of watching television, they performed on the stage which is reserved for top stars.

“We prepared a new version of ‘TT,’ wearing dresses. The dresses came out juts in time so we did the fitting yesterday and the stylists had to work until right before the pre-record stage performance,” Jihyo said.

Despite not wanted to say goodbye, they bid farewell to their fans with a sticker of buckets pouring water on them.
