JYJ’s Jaejoong took to Naver’s V app on Saturday after completing his mandatory military service.

Discharged from the 55th Infantry Division of the army in Gyeonggi Province the previous day, Jaejoong expressed deep gratitude towards his fans for their support.

“I’ve officially finished my military service obligation and I never thought I could see you guys again so soon,” he told viewers on his way to a fan meeting.

He also talked about how he really felt grateful when he saw fans waiting for him in front of his military post on the day he was discharged.

“The moment was like a once in a lifetime thing so I’ll never forget that sight. Again, I really appreciate you guys waiting for me on that day,” Jaejoong said.

In South Korea, all able-bodied men are subject to compulsory military service for under two years.

Girl group Gavy NJ hosted a live broadcast on Saturday and wished fans a happy new year.

During the broadcast, titled “Good bye 2016,” the members each made a new year’s resolution.

“I’m really looking forward to 2017 and can’t wait to start a fresh new day,” Jenny told fans.

But she also said she felt surprised at how quickly time passes.

“Time seems to have flown between the age of 20 and 25, and much faster to 30,” Jenny added, who has turned 30 this year under a lunar age (or Korean age system).

On their way to a New Year’s Eve concert in Suwon, south of Seoul, other members agreed that remaining healthy is most important for the upcoming year.

The newly-joined and youngest member Gunji said “I realized the value of health when I was sick several times,” emphasizing she would keep healthy all the time and develop her music career to her full potential.

Seorin added that she wished all her fans, friends and family to stay healthy as well.

Asked by fans whether they had any plan to see someone in 2017, Gunji responded that she would like to enjoy being alone -- at least for now.

“It’s good to have this season of my life being solo so that I can make use of most of the time to accomplish something.”

The group added “We wish you guys a very happy new year.”
