CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa did a Thursday V app broadcast and gave his support for VIXX’s Ravi on his first solo album.

Jung participated as a featuring artist for the rookie artist’s “Home Alone” (working title).

“I had my eyes on Ravi since his debut. He’s asked me to join him on this album and we’ve been engrossed in singing,” Jung said.

“In 2017, amid a busy start of the new year, I hope you all find your own pace while listening to ‘Home Alone.’”

“Home Alone” is set for release on Jan. 3 at midnight.

Winner

Four-member group Winner aired an hour-long live V app broadcast on Thursday.

The group is gearing up for a return without former member Nam Tae-hyun, who dropped out citing mental distress issues.

Remaining members Kang Seung-yoon, Lee Seung-hoon, Song Min-ho and Kim Jin-woo, vowed to do all they weren’t able to do before, in 2017.

For New Year’s resolution, Seung-hoon said he wants to be more punctual. The 24-year-old is taking Japanese and Chinese classes three days a week, but he is somehow always late to the lessons.

“I think it’s because I’m the only student there. Or the cold weather, maybe,” Seung-hoon said.

He used the V opportunity to apologize to his teachers.

The rest of the group members joined in on the pledge to be on time for everything, most importantly for their group activities.

The boys chatted between themselves, revealing funny facts about each other.

Jin-woo, who is the oldest member at 25, apparently has issues with bright lights.

Winner members testified to Jin-woo’s odd habits of keeping the lights off inside washrooms at all times.

“Sometimes when I open our washroom door and turn the lights on to go in, Jin-woo’s already there. He’s washing in the darkness,” said Min-ho.

Winner bid their fans have a happy new year.

Twice

Girl group Twice’s Sana celebrated her 20th birthday on Thursday.

Sana said she received so many birthday wishes that she felt it was only right for her to air a V show to thank the fans.

A fan asked if Sana had miyeokguk, the birthday seaweed soup. Miyeokguk is what Korean mothers traditionally eat after giving birth, because the seaweed, rich in iron and other nutrients, is believed to help revitalize the female body after labor. This soup is usually cooked by the delivering woman’s mother or mother-in-law.

Over time, miyeokguk became an indispensable food on birthdays, as it symbolized motherly care and love. The majority of Koreans believe that a birthday table is only complete with miyeokguk.

This was news to Sana who is not from Korea. She turned to her teammates and asked, “Is miyeokguk eaten on a birthday?”

The broadcast was aired from an SBS greenroom where Twice was getting ready to perform for the 2016 SAF Music Awards.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
