Television comedy show host Shin Dong-yup was awarded the Grand Award for hosting “Animal Farm” and “My Ugly Duckling” at the 2016 SBS Award Festival Entertainment Awards held on Dec. 25 at the SBS Prism Tower.

He had hosted the award ceremony for several years, but it was Shin‘s first award from SBS in his 26 years of his career, which started with the establishment of the broadcasting station.

The other Grand Award nominees were Yoo Jae-suk (“Running Man”), Kim Gura (“Same Bed Different Dreams”), Kim Gook-jin (“Flaming Youth”), Kim Byung-man (“Law of the Jungle”).

“I think this program (”My Ugly Duckling“) is a gift from my deceased mother,” Shin said sharing his joy at the acceptance speech.

Putting Shin’s Grand Award aside, “My Ugly Duckling” swept the awards with Screenwriter Award (Yuk So-young), Producers‘ Award (Park Soo-hong), the Program of the Year Award, Excellence Award (Kim Gun-mo).
