Kim Hyun-joong and ex-girlfriend to return to court
An appeals trial between singer Kim Hyun-joong and ex-girlfriend will ensue in January, court authorities said Monday.
Kim and his ex-girlfriend, surnamed Choi, are locked in a dragged-out damage suit against each other regarding an alleged past miscarriage, due to violence.
The woman first took Kim to criminal court in August 2014. She dropped the charge a month later for settlement money, but filed another damage suit against Kim in April the following year.

Around Christmas 2014, the two briefly slipped back to amicable terms. During this time, Choi indisputably conceived a child. She gave birth to a son in September 2015. A DNA test proved the child is Kim’s.
The warring couple have yet to decide who will bring up the child. Kim has been serving his mandatory military duty since May 2015.
In August 2016, the court ruled in favor of Kim, dismissing Choi’s call for 1.6 billion won ($1.37 million) in compensation and instead ordering her to pay Kim 100 million won for falsely accusing him of assault.
Choi appealed the decision.
