Seo Ji-hye talked about her role as well as her improvisation skills in the drama series “Jealousy Incarnate,” in an interview published Thursday.

Seo, 32, said in an interview with The Herald Business that many parts of the Hong Hye-won character, an uncompromising TV announcer, were improvised on set.

“My impression on set was that the partner role, played by Jo Jung-suk, was a hard-nosed man,” she said. “So I thought, I should out power this tough guy while acting.”

Seo said that the ability of the actors to express “subtle emotion” was the allure of the series.

“I could not help reading the script over and over again,” she said. “The same line could be carried in totally different moods. It was tough, but Kong Hyo-jin and Jo Jung-suk did superb jobs on that.”

She added she has many things in common with her character saying that the role allowed her “to play a character that had a similar personality.”
