TvN’s latest fantasy-drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” ranked the highest on the content power index for the first week of December, setting a new record.

According to CJ E&M on Monday, “Guardian,” which previously was titled in English simply as “Goblin,” managed to take over the No. 1 spot from hit SBS drama “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” which had claimed the top spot three consecutive weeks.

More impressive still is that “Guardian” has not only overtaken “Legend of the Blue Sea” in its first week, but also nearly doubled its score, setting a new record.

The TV drama scored 7,449 points in its first week. Previous hit dramas such as KBS’ “Descendants of the Sun” scored 5,518 points, tvN’s “Reply 1988” scored 5,260 points and KBS’ “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” scored 4,720 points. “Legend of the Blue Sea” fell to second place, sitting at 4,315 points.
