Chanyeol of boy band EXO celebrated four victories for the group at the Mnet Asian Music Awards 2016 on Friday, after returning to his hotel room for a live show through Naver’s V app.

“We made history,” he told V app viewers Saturday. “I would like to express indefinite thanks to fans for this.”

Chanyeol added that he wanted to share his feeling with fans before holding a celebration party with his bandmates.

“I told my fellow EXO members that I‘m going to the restroom,” he said. “Instead I’m doing this in my room to share my feelings. I was so overwhelmed when we were announced the winners.”

On their performance at MAMA 2016, he regretted a lack of time to prepare for the stage, as they each had hectic individual schedules and had trouble getting together to practice, but he was “content” to be together as EXO as a whole.

“I was worried about the lack of time to practice,” he said. “It turned out to be unnecessary. Honestly, I am upping my anticipation for EXO’s activities next year. So fans don’t need to worry about our future.”

On Friday, EXO won Album of the Year with “Ex’Act,” Best Male Group, Best Asian Style and Best Collaboration for “Dream,” featuring Baekhyun and Suzy. EXO marked their fourth consecutive victory in Album of the Year, one of the three top prizes along with Artist of the Year and Song of the Year, at the awards show.

Seventeen’s Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino celebrated winning the World Performer Award at MAMA 2016 in a live show through the V app Saturday.

The broadcast started past midnight, as the three worried that fans had all fallen asleep.

“I didn‘t even know that the actors on stage were presenters to give us an award,” Vernon said. “None of us expected a prize at the event. I was so surprised.”

“Winning a prize brought me a somewhat different emotion,” Seungkwan said. “I almost cried.”

Seungkwan added he was recently working on a chant for Seventeen. Soon he asked fans about the idea of putting the names of all 13 of the bandmates together in the lyrics of the chant, which drew a “fairly positive response” from the Naver V app chat room.

“My fans never disappoint me, in that they enjoy challenging new things as much as Seventeen does,” Seungkwan remarked.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
