SBS’ medical series “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim” surpassed 20 percent in viewership ratings Tuesday.

The series, starring Han Seok-gyu, Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin, recorded 21.7 percent in viewership ratings for its eighth episode that aired Tuesday, according to market research firm Nielsen Korea.

It was the first time the show had gone over the 20 percent mark, though it has maintained the top spot among series aired on Mondays and Tuesdays since its premiere aired Nov. 7.

On Tuesday, the viewership ratings of shows aired by rival cable channels remained in the single-digit range. MBC’s “Night Light” recorded 6.2 percent, while KBS 2TV’s “Sweet Stranger and Me” saw 3.5 percent.
