Singer and actress IU hinted at an alternative ending to her recent SBS drama “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” on Monday.

IU updated her personal Instagram account with a photo of her drama character crying in the last scene. The scene also shows off a blue handkerchief being passed down to her.

She added the caption, “Huh? A handkerchief..?”

Fans have speculated that this was an alternative ending reel where she reunites with Lee Joon-gi in the present time.

“Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” aired their finale on Nov. 2 and “Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim” has taken over the Monday-Tuesday 10 p.m. drama time slot.
