South Korean boy band Bangtan Boys (BTS) has ranked in the Billboard's main music chart for two weeks straight with its new LP, the US chart revealed on Wednesday (US time).

The band's second and latest LP "Wings," released on Oct. 10, hit No. 26 on the Billboard 200 chart last week, the highest placement for a K-pop boy group so far. The album claimed 106th in the chart the next week.

This marks the first time for a K-pop act to secure a spot for two weeks in a row.

"Entering the (Billboard's 200) chart requires a large, established fandom on top of favorable reviews about their music,"
the group's agency, Big Hit Entertainment, said in a press release.

Amid the rising presence of BTS in the global pop scene, Billboard published five articles last week about the seven-member act.

The Billboard 200 chart's ratings are compiled by Nielsen Music, based on the week's sales of CDs and the number of EP downloads and instances of music streaming. (Yonhap)
