Busan One Asia Festival

This year’s Busan One Asia Festival kicked off with a star-studded K-pop cast Saturday, as nearly two hours of video was revealed via V on Sunday.

The 23-day BOF2016 aims to “Introduce everything there is to know about the Korean Wave,” said host Lee Da-hae.

The day consisted of the “K-pop History Stage” and “Hot Stage,” where K-pop acts representing each wave of hallyu from the 1990s and major acts that were the motor of the hallyu fever came on to perform.

Girl group DIA opened the first performance with “Mr. Potter,” followed by La Boum’s “Shooting Love.”

Movie stars from Busan also graced the stage.

The entire two-hour show is available for replays via the V app.

BOF2016 is slated to run from Oct. 1-23 at Busan Exhibition and Convention Center, Busan Asiad Gymnasium and more.

Approximately 40,000 hallyu fans filled the Asiad main stadium on the first day of the festival.

GOT7

Septet boy band GOT7 on Sunday shared a dance practice video for their new song “Hard Carry” over V, where they showed off impeccably synchronized moves that could have well been made into a music video of its very own.

The black-and-white clip showed the boys pumping out powerful dance moves.

The clip garnered more than 1.4 million “hearts” as of 10 a.m. the next morning.

In the morning, GOT7’s Jinyoung and Bambam sat down for a separate V show in which they chatted in front of fans about how they spent time while preparing for the latest album release.

Bambam said he was on planes a lot, although he regrets he wasn’t able to save all the mileage.

Bambam also proudly announced that he has become of legal age in Korea since the last time he broadcast a V show together with Jinyoung.

Red Velvet

Girl group Red Velvet’s Irene and Seulgi played “Telepathy Game” on V on Sunday.

Dressed in pajamas and lying snuggled in bed, the two gave two tries in guessing each other’s choice of food between two options to see if they could telepathically connect.

However, while picking between jjajangmyun and jjampong, Seulgi opted for the former while Irene went for the latter.

Jjajangmyun is a savory black noodle dish Koreans often enjoy at localized Chinese restaurants. Jjampong is a spicy seafood and noodle soup.

The two once again differed in picking between moolnaeng and binaeng -- Seulgi going for the moolnaeng and Irene the binaeng.

Moolnaeng is short for Mool-naengmyun, which is chewy buckwheat noodle in cold and sour broth, while binaeng is short for bibim-naengmyun, which is the same noodle without the soup and tossed in a spicy sauce.

Seulgi and Irene concluded it was best their tastes in food were different, because then the two of them could order different items and share.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
