MBC’s new TV drama “Woman With a Suitcase” premiered Monday, and within two episodes it has already managed to overtake SBS drama “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo.”

According to Nielson Korea, the second episode of “Woman with a Suitcase” scored 8.4 percent viewership, while “Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” only garnered 7.5 percent.

“Scarlet Heart: Ryeo” had previously ranked second in drama viewership after KBS’ “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds,” but it was unable to maintain the position as “Woman with a Suitcase” swiftly rose.

“Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” still sat safely at the top with an impressive 20.1 percent viewership Tuesday.

“Woman with a Suitcase” follows the story of Cha Geum-Joo (played by Choi Ji-woo), who works as a manager at an attorney’s office. After breaching an attorney code, she is arrested and her career seems to be over. Through many twists and turns, she manages to pick herself up and rebuild her career.

The drama also stars actor Joo Jin-mo, who plays a tabloid CEO, and idol-turned-actor Lee Joon, who plays an idealistic lawyer with a strong sense of justice.
