South Korean rookie boy band NCT will star on a cooking variety show in November, the culture ministry said Wednesday.

For the collaborative project by NCT's agency, SM Entertainment, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the seven group members -- Taeyong, Taeil, Yuta, Winwin, Jaehyun, Doyoung and Ten -- will compete against each other in cooking at the Korea House and the Korean Food Foundation in central Seoul.

Under the guide of their master chef, Kwon Woo-jung, the members will learn how to make "the top-10 Korean dishes loved by foreigners," and other popular dishes, including bibimbap and "gungjung galbijjim," royal court-style steamed beef ribs. The show will also provide educational content about Korean history, Kwon said.

"We expect it to boost the Korean Wave by showing our food culture to K-pop fans abroad," a culture ministry official said.

The six-episode series will premiere in November on various platforms, including Naver, the top South Korean Internet portal; YouTube; and the Korean Cultural Center website (www.mcst.go.kr/usr/culture/index.jsp).
