Girls’ Generation member Tiffany will not take part in the pep rally held by her agency S.M. Entertainment, a local report said.

The musician and TV celebrity, who has recently been blasted for her “lack of awareness in Korean history,” will not join the pep rally event that marks the 20th anniversary of the nation‘s largest entertainment agency since foundation, according to Sports Chosun Wednesday.

The 350-strong party, made up of S.M. Entertainment’s employees and artists, including the rest of Girls‘ Generation, will go to Hawaii for the five-day pep rally starting Sunday.

Tiffany came under criticism after posting a picture with the image of the rising sun flag that symbolizes Japanese imperialism on Aug. 15, Korea’s Liberation Day. Such a social media blunder caused her to step down from her activities on air, including KBS 2TV‘s reality show “Unnies’ Slam Dunk.”
